Abstract

In his new book (“Russian Choice”) V.V. Fyodorov, General Director, All-Russian Center for Public Opinion Research (“VTsIOM”) considers certain “foundations” of a “theory of electoral behaviour” and then examines the effects of applying these “foundations” to the Russian politico-electoral practice of the last twenty years. The basic hypothesis for a future theory of Russians’ electoral behaviour is the author’s assertion that changes in Russian electors’ electoral behaviour should be considered in connection not only with changes in the socio-economic structure of society, but also with change of the socio-cultural paradigm of the country’s development.
