Abstract

Scientific congresses, both national and international, are one of the most important and effectiveformats of academic socio-humanitarian work. The authors consider domestic and foreign congressesheld in the second half of the last year – the 25th World Political Congress (Brisbane, Australia, July),the 24th World Philosophical Congress (Beijing, China, August) and the 8th All-Russian Congress ofPolitical Scientists (Moscow, Russia, December). The authors of the article compare these events, analyze functions and role of scientific congresses in the promotion of humanitarian disciplines, take anunbiased look at the form of organizing and holding Congresses through the prism of the developmentof the political science community. They analyze as well the similarities and differences of the World andAll-Russian congresses and conclude that the All-Russian congresses of political scientists, within thelast two decades, in many respects have reached the level of the World congresses. No less important isthe conclusion that the Russian political science needs to rethink the fundamental political problems of the post-digital dialogue of cultures in the period of drastic world order transformations.
