Abstract

The article acquaints the readers with specificity and basic aspects of applied policy analysis as a particular discipline whose subject is political administration. After retracing the genesis of policy analysis, its formation as a self-sustained sphere of knowledge, the author reviews in detail the subject field of policy analysis, its methods, devices and methodology, as well as internal structure. In conclusion, he touches upon the question of the condition of policy analysis in Russia, dwells on the main problems that are to be solved in order to overcome our country’s lag in this sphere as compared with Europe and the USA.
