Abstract

7th International Russian-Chinese Scientific-Practical Conference organized by Chinese Institute of International Problems, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese People's Republic, and Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russian Federation, was held in Peking, May, this year. Participants of the conference concentrated their attention on such questions as Russian-Chinese vision of world politics, cooperation of Russia and China in the framework of regional organizations, and prospects of the development of Russian-Chinese relations. According to the Russian and Chinese scientists' conclusion, strategic interaction between Russia and China has good prospects. Of course, there are problems, too, but they can be solved by joint efforts, through discussions and search for consensus. Participants of the conference were stressing the necessity of deepening economic cooperation, of consolidating mutual trust, ofdeveloping contacts between scientists, between the youth of the two countries. What can, in the general opinion, prove an effective instrument of developing bilateral contacts, is the Shanghai Organization of Cooperation, whose mechanism permits quite well building up of cooperation in all spheres.
