Abstract

With the conclusion of the past regular electoral cycle that determined the configuration of the Russian power for an observable perspective, necessary prerequisites have taken shape for thorough analysis of the motives of Russian electors’ behavior. It is the most widely spread models describing the said behavior that are considered in the first part of the article. The author concentrates especial attention on political consumerism, which is understood both as consumptively motivated political behavior and as politically motivated consumptive behavior, considering both these phenomena as mutually connected and mutually conditioned. Effects of political consumerism are discussed by the author in comparative perspective and, besides, in view of the dynamics of the Russian elector’s political activity.
