Abstract

The author analyzes the objective logic of the developments of the Georgian-South-Ossetian Conflict, 2008, and the logic of the conduct of the protagonists of the conflict – Georgia, South Ossetia and Russia – using the logical and mathematical apparatus of the theoretical analysis and of settlement of conflicts. The author is answering three connected questions: why did Georgia prefer military solution of the conflict to peaceful variants; why did Russia intervene in the military operations; and how stable is the status quo achieved after Russia’s interference.
